Cherokee senior Bellamy scored his 1,000th career point during a game against Eastern. Bellamy, a guard and the team’s captain, was the only returning starter for the Chiefs this season, and helped lead his team to the South Jersey Group IV championship game in March, where they lost to Cherry Hill East. He was honored with the game ball at his 1,000 point game.

Michelle Faykes
Cherry Hill
Cherry Hill native and University of Connecticut swimmer Faykes aided UConn in a 161-122 triumph over Boston College. Faykes won the 1,000-yard freestyle, recording a time of 10:42.15 en route to victory. Frei-Funk, a senior at Lenape, captured the High Game Award at the NJSIAA Bowling Tournament of Champions. Frei-Funk and his team are coming off a record-breaking season, capturing the South Jersey Group IV title for the first time in the school’s history. Frei-Funk was also the only South Jersey student selected for the NJSIAA all-state second team.

Sophia Peifer

Bulldawgs sophomore Peifer captured her second consecutive NJSIAA girls diving championship this winter at Montgomery High School. Peifer’s first dive earned her a score of 49, but it was her 10th dive, which earned her a perfect score, that sealed her championship win. Peifer ended the night with a score of 566.95, more than 50 points ahead of the second-place winner.

Brock Worrell
