Simply Outstanding - 03/10/2009 by Gregory Michaels I am from California and I had to fly to come to NJ for a business trip. I was taken to lunch here, and the food was absolutely amazing! I ordered Pasta in white clam sauce for $8.95 which included a soup (homemade) and garlic bread. What a great deal! Besides the food being outstanding, the customer service was also. Each server seemed happy to work there unlike some other restaurants I have gone to. When I went up to the counter to pay for the bill I noticed this guy playing around with a machine. I asked him what he was making and he said espresso. It was the neatest thing ever! He was very polite and started up a conversation with me, and I had told him that I had never tried an espresso. He then handed me an espresso and said "here you go buddy, it's on the house." It was very strong, but kept me awake for the rest of my meetings all day. It isn't very often where you find a restaurant with great customer service and food! Next time I have a business trip in NJ, Sal and Joe's will definitley be my first stop.

KB is crazy. - 03/03/2009 by Seth I eat at this place every week, and let me tell you, the customer service is amazing. I don't know what this "KB" guy is talking about. Sal & Joe's is very reasonable with their prices. I will eat there even if their prices doubled. You can't put a price tag on Sal & Joe's quality.

Bad customer service - 01/26/2009 by KB Twice I have ordered take-out from Sal and Joe's. The first time, the price was much higher than I expected, and I was told that the prices had gone up since they'd updated their website. No apology, no adjustment. I waited about two years before deciding to try again. I ordered a plain pizza ($12.95) and two side salads as well as a serving of plain, dry rigatoni for my son. The person taking my order on the phone even laughed when I asked for it, and I explained that it was because I have no kitchen right now. When my husband came home, the bill was for $35. I called the restaurant, assuming it was a mistake, and was told that they charged me $10 for a much less than full serving of plain pasta with no sides or sauce. Not only is the pasta ridiculously overpriced, it was cold by the time we got it. Again, no apology. I was just told that if I'd asked for a "side of pasta," he might have charged me less. Might? I will never eat at this restaurant again. Nothing they make justifies their prices or their lack of consideration for customer service.

Wonderful experience - 10/25/2008 by Francis Mettengis This is an amazing mom and pop Italian BYOB. Food is always fresh and consistent. Service is friendly and welcoming.
Sal and Joe's is a low key restaurant with five star food without the hefty price tag.

Best Dinner Ever! - 09/14/2007 by Mark Mariciano I have been to so many five star restaurants, and I have to say Sal and Joe's beats them all. My favorite dish is the shrimp fettucini in a spicy marinara sauce. My family and I go there twice a week and I always get that dish at least once a week. Everything is reasonably priced and all entrees come with soup, salad, and garlic bread! The servers and the cooks are all very friendly also. I never had a bad meal from there. It's very family oriented and I feel very comfortable and welcomed each time I go there.
