Lottery Games Cross Area State Lines
Come Sunday, state boundaries will no longer matter, at least around here, when it comes to the nation’s two multi-state lottery games.
That’s when Mega Millions tickets will be sold in Pennsylvania and Delaware, and Powerball joins the New Jersey lineup, making both games available throughout the tri state. In fact, hat’ll be the case through most of the country where either game is now played. Dominic DeMarco is with the New Jersey Lottery:
"Now you’ll be able to participate in whatever jackpot game you choose, or both. If your interest’s in you wanna play for a big jackpot, you don’t particularly care if it’s Powerball or Mega Millions, then if one jackpot is up, maybe you’re playing that game."
It’s not clear what, if any impact, the changes will have on what a state takes in. Both games are equally popular -- part of the reason there were efforts to allow this cross state play in the first place.
