• The Road Company Theater Group
1989 was the year that made history for The Road Company Theater Group, formerly of Monroe Township. Julie Speeney, founder of The Road Company Theater Group, had stumbled across the Grand Theater--a diamond in the rough, and fell in love; she later made it the permanent home for her theater group. The theater offered history, class, and--most importantly--character. Speeney had found the perfect location that not only brought the stage of The Grand Theatre back to life, but the spirit of her cultured audience as well.

• Cape Classics Motorcycle Club
The Cape Classic Motorcycle Club is headquartered on 337 West Spicer Avenue in Wildwood, New Jersey. Its origins go back to the fall of 1992, when six local riders--including Roland Roy and club vice president and police officer of 22 years Marc Damaico--decided that Cape May needed a motorcycle club or hog chapter similar to those of Atlantic City Hog and Cumberland County Hog. The number of members, whom President Roland Roy describes with a chuckle as a "diverse bunch of nuts," has risen from 6 to 55, including three women. Membership is limited due to the size of their personally renovated and constructed club house; however,

The summer is over, at least for most high school athletes from South Jersey. Aug. 18 was the day that most fall sports teams began practicing. As always, the race for the No. 1 football team in South Jersey should be among the most fascinating elements of the season.
