Riverside High School

Riverside High School serves students in ninth through twelfth grades from Riverside Township in Burlington County. Attendees also include students from neighboring Delanco Township. The school has an enrollment of approximately 600 students and 33 teachers.

The class of 2014’s graduates were celebrated at Riverside High School’s 84rd commencement on Thursday, June 19. Congratulations to the Rampage Coach’s Senior Athletes of the Year: Yasmin Vazquez and Jake Graham. Senior poll winners include Nicole DiMiero and Bobby Davison for Most School Spirit, Pauleen Sanchez and Yeison Vasconez for Most Friendly, Maranda Torres and Neil Brooks for Class Flirt, Kylie Joo and Chris Gahm for Best Hair, Nicole Magargal and Kasey Grob for Best Smile, Carson Fanikos and Sam Frame for Most Likely to be Famous, Katharine Stypinksi and Cody Ercol for Most Talkative, Mia Tribbett and Cody Ercol for Most Eccentric, and Nicole Magargal and Kasey Grob for Cutest Couple that Never Was.

RHS is committed to providing every student with a quality education. According to the school’s website, their goal is to ensure that each student has the skills to become productive and respectful citizens in society. The school will reinforce, through example, the benefits of service and civic awareness in a community, and will provide all the support to foster the achievements of the next generation.

Each student at Riverside is required to complete courses in English, Math, Science, US History, World History, Health and Physical Education, Fine or Performing Arts, Practical Art, Computer Applications/Careers, and Foreign Languages.

Extracurricular activities at the school include Future Educators of America, the RAMPAGE newspaper, Marching Band, Concert Band, Jazz Band, Peer Leadership, Student Government, School Play, JROTC and many others.

The Marching Rams presented their 2013 field show titled “I Believe” starting at their first competition of the season at Chichester HS on September 14. Other competitions included Delran HS, Burlington City HS, Lenape HS, Hamilton HS West, Jackson Memorial HS, Delsea Regional HS, and Hatboro Horsham HS. Congratulations to the Marching Rams for receiving 2nd Place at the NJ State Championships and 2nd Place at National Championships.

The Rams Booster Club meets on the first Monday of each month at 7:30pm in the high school cafeteria. This parent organization raises funds for the benefit of the students of Riverside for things like back to school night, homecoming, teacher appreciation luncheons, and graduation awards.

Each year, Student Government sponsors Homecoming. Each class at the school selects a candidate to run for queen and builds a float to be judged at half-time during the Homecoming football game. Related events include a pre-game parade through town, a half-time parade, the naming of the Queen’s Court, and a dance where the winning float is announced.

Riverside High School provides a variety of interscholastic athletics including Football, Field Hockey, Track and Field, Cross Country, Wrestling, Weightlifting, Baseball, Softball, Girls & Boys Basketball, Girls & Boys Soccer, and Cheerleading.

Many athletes had much success during the past school year. Congratulations to Milagros Robinson for being the NJ State Champion in the high jump and triple jump. The girls softball team won the Independence Division this spring and went into the third round of the state playoffs. The boys baseball team won the Freedom Division this spring as well.
